Personal Background
I grew up in a small town on the MN/ND border called Barnesville, MN. My parents were both teachers so we spent summers on Leech Lake in Walker, MN where I learned to fish, waterski and love the outdoors. After high school, I decided to play college football at Minnesota State University, Mankato and I received a degree in Construction Management & Architecture. From there, I took a job as a project manager with Rottlund Homes where I worked for 18 months until I decided I wanted to build more extravagant homes. An opportunity came along to work with Rock Creek Design/Build in Prior Lake so I took a position as the main project manager for that company. I moved to Prior Lake and learned the custom home building trade. It was a very rewarding experience and the right move for me looking back on it. After putting in my time with Rock Creek, it occurred to me that while I loved building homes for people, my true calling was in helping people buy and sell their homes. At that point, I got my real estate license and went to work for Coldwell Banker Burnet. I worked with some of the best agents in the business at the Edina 50th & France office. After about a year, another real estate opportunity came my way to work for a small boutique office called Tradition Realty. I worked there for 9 years selling real estate until it became apparent that small offices were not able to provide the tools and resources that a bigger operation could. I decided to go back to Coldwell Banker Burnet, Apple Valley office where I am working at today! I am very happy with the decision and am able to offer my clients a first class real estate experience.
